"Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's that a ship needs....but what a ship is. What the Black Pearl really is......is freedom." ~Jack Sparrow
This is new for me. Airbrushing on a Canoe paddle. And a portrait of Jack Sparrow, yet. My biggest obsession, and oddly, the one I have the least amount of art made of.
This was deffinatly not like working with a T-shirt where it was forgiving...no, this was a challenge. I still freehanded everything (except the sword, obviously) and it was difficult....but I did my best and this is the result. I can tell you that I would have added more detail in it if I knew how the wood would take the paint better, but by the time I understood how the paint laid on the wood, I was done it, so... If I get another comission to paint on a paddle, I know how to tackle it now.
This took me around...I'm going to say 9 hours, but it may be more, it may be less, I really don't want to count.
